The microelectronics industry in the race of shrinking the size of the components and the increase of the density of transistors in the chip have driven a impressive progress in the techniques of nanofabrication. this effort has been also relayed by the scientific community of the more fundamental research to take advantage of these techniques to produce small objects at the interface between the atomic (or molecular) and the macroscopic world to understand the transition between these two worlds. The techniques developped to attained these goals are very expensive and also need a clean costly environment (clean room). Moreover the skill and know-how developped by the team working in these domains are also very precious and represent a long period of training.
