Ile de France Competence Centre
 
C’Nano IdF is the Ile-de-France Nanoscience Competence Centre.
It was created in 2006 at the initiative of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the French Atomic Energy Comission (CEA), and the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR). It has since been structured as a CNRS research group that leads the Ile de France region’s Major Research Area (DIM). It is part of the C’Nano interdisciplinary programme that covers the whole of metropolitan France with 6 competence centres...
 
C’Nano IdF is the epicentre of research in the Ile de France region and brings together the largest concentration of academic teams in Europe. These teams conduct research to understand, master and exploit elements of the nanoworld and nanosystems.
 
C’nano IdF brings together :
- Over 100 laboratories and institutions
- 2 national technology centres
- 3 local national technology centres
- Over 220 teams
- 8 Universities
- 7 High Schools
and some 2,200 researchers, lecturers/researchers and PhD Students
